Best Dog Parks for Urban Pups

Project Spaces

From comfy cafés to delicious eateries to must-see museums, there’s no shortage of activities to do in Toronto. But our vibrant city isn’t just a great place for humans to live; pups also have it pretty good and the plethora of dog parks that have been put in place play a significant role in their excellent quality of life. Dog-friendly coworking spaces don't hurt either...

In today’s blog, we’re exploring all the best dog parks for urban pups.

1. Trinity Bellwoods

This popular park located at Strachan and Queen Street West is the perfect place to take your pooch if you’re spending the day exploring the city. The off-leash dog park area of Trinity features a large grassy pit, restrooms, and a dog fountain. You can also stop by one of the many ice cream shops near the Trinity Bellwoods area so you can enjoy a sweet treat along with your pup (though theirs will be of the doggy variety)!

2. High Park

High Park is known as Toronto’s largest park and among its many amenities is an off-leash dog park. You and your pup can enjoy a stroll on designated trails and play on 8.5 acres of the open area known as “Dog Hill.” Dog Hill also has benches and a drinking fountain so that you and your furry friend can rest and rehydrate when needed.

3. Sherwood Park

Sherwood Park is an ideal destination for you and your four-legged friend if you’re looking to get some exercise in. This picturesque park located in North Toronto is known for its well-maintained trails that are great for hiking. If you’d like to let your dog off its leash at some point during your visit, there is also an extensive fenced-off trail area!

4. Cherry Beach

If you’re looking for a location to enjoy some fun in the sun with your fur baby, Cherry Beach is the place to go. Located in the Port Lands at the foot of Cherry Street, this beach park features plenty of trails, a scenic shoreline, and an off-leash area that makes it possible for your dog to run free and splash around in the water.

5. South Stanley Park

Located on the south side of King, this is where all the hip King West pooches come to get their exercise. This park features a large, gravelled off-leash area where your dog can frolic with new friends. If you’re a city dweller that values convenience, this is definitely the dog park for you!

There you have it, all the best dog parks that are worth visiting in Toronto. There’s no doubt your canine counterpart will thank you with plenty of tail wags and kisses for taking them out on their doggy excursion.
