Best Ways to Celebrate the Holidays in Toronto

Project Spaces

Guess what, friends - the holiday season is officially here! The city is getting in the spirit of the season, and the next month will be jam-packed with plenty of folly fun and festive décor.  If you want to make the most out of this joyous season, you’re in luck because today we’re unveiling the best ways to celebrate the holidays in the 6ix.

Toronto Christmas Market

The Toronto Christmas Market is one of the city’s most treasured holiday traditions, and this year marks its tenth anniversary. The Distillery District began its transformation into a winter wonderland reminiscent of Europe’s Christkindlmarkt on November 14th, and the festivities will continue until December 22nd.  There’s simply no way to get through the holidays in Toronto without paying a visit to the Christmas Market, so make sure you go while you still can!

A Nutcracker Christmas at the Castle

Casa Loma is giving the city a sprinkle of holiday magic this season with their “A Nutcracker Christmas at the Castle” event. This spectacular occasion features performances by illusionist Professor Wick and ice skating performers Glisse on Ice. The entire castle will be decked out in Christmas décor and children can participate in arts and crafts, decorate sweet treats, and pay a visit to Santa in his workshop. A Nutcracker Christmas at the Castle runs from December 1st – January 6th and admission fees are $33 for adults, $27 for youth, and $23 for kids.

Christmas Glow

Light up your Instagram feed this season at Glow Gardens, an immersive indoor wonderland that has thousands of twinkling lights, interactive light sculptures, and delicious holiday delights. This family-friendly event takes place at 1020 Martin Grove Road and has an admission fee of $19.99 on weekdays and $22.99 on weekends. You can take a chance and try something new under the twinkle of a million lights starting November 28th.

Holiday Fair in the Nathan Phillips Square

We’ll end off this list the same way we started it – at Nathan Phillips Square (a.k.a. the mecca of all things merry). From December 7th – 23rd (excluding Mondays), Nathan Phillips Square’s Holiday Fair will be up and running. Whether you want to say hello to Santa, find one-of-a-kind gifts, ride the carousel, take a skate around the rink, or enjoy the twinkling light displays – you can do it all at this fair!

There’s no denying the fact that Toronto is a truly magical city during the festive season, and at Project Spaces, we absolutely love this time of year. On December 12th we’ll be throwing our very own Holiday Bash that’s part member social and part potluck dinner.
