Let's Get Physical

Project Spaces

At Project Spaces, we know it takes a lot of hard work and hustling to be an entrepreneur or digital nomad. Unfortunately, working at a desk for the majority of the day can lead to a very sedentary lifestyle. It’s important to achieve a balance of work life and fitness for the sake of not only your physical health, but also, your mental health. Luckily the downtown core of Toronto features a wide variety of places to get active with an assortment of classes and activities suited to different fitness goals and levels. Adults need at least 150 minutes of physical activity a week so here are the best spots in the area to get active:

MOKSHA YOGA

577 Wellington Street

Moksha Yoga is less of a yoga studio and more of a community. Sweat out the toxins in your body in one of their many hot yoga classes. Whether you’re a novice or an advanced practicing yogi, there’s something for everyone from Pilates to flow to restoration. After a stressful day of work, there’s nothing better than stretching it out on your yoga mat and feeling rejuvenated.

BIG HIT

165 Fork York Blvd

If clients or colleagues have you down and you need to let out some aggression, sign up for a class at Big Hit Kickboxing Studio. The best thing about their classes is that each attendee has their own dummy, affectionately named Bob, to kick, punch and strike. You can unleash some anger while perfecting your kickboxing techniques and burning calories in this all-encompassing workout. It’s sure to be a big hit.

SOULCYCLE

435 King Street West

There’s a reason SoulCycle and the colour yellow comes to mind when you think of spin class. Their world-renowned classes are often referred to “cardio parties.” The enthusiastic instructors, candlelit settings and high energy music almost make you forget that you’re working out. Unleash your inner cardio party animal by trying out SoulCycle.

F45

828 Richmond Street West

F45 is a functional training 45-minute full-body workout that will leave you gasping for air. It involves high-intensity circuits where you cycle through different movements and exert yourself for short periods of time with quick breaks for water (and air) in between. Each of the 31 classes is slightly different in that it targets specific muscle groups. You can pick and choose which classes you find the most effective. Just make sure you bring a towel to wipe the sweat off once those 45 minutes are up.

TORONTO SCHOOL OF BURLESQUE

160 Spadina Avenue

For a fun and unique workout check out the Toronto School of Burlesque. Their classes include Drag Queen Ballet, Beyonce & Heels, Sexy Salsa and many more one-of-a-kind workouts so dust off your dancing shoes and bust a move. You can even book a private session for a one-on-one lesson with one of the school’s talented instructors. If you really put in work you can even dazzle your friends by appearing in one of their shows. Talk about setting fitness goals!

GOOD LIFE
