Stay Fuelled: Top Places to Grab a Coffee in Toronto

Project Spaces

The hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto mornings is one to truly marvel at. With the TTC moving thousands of people each morning to work, a peaceful daybreak doesn’t quite exist in the city.

For this reason, it’s imperative that professionals find a way to incorporate their own cup of peace into their morning routine, and what method of achieving this is more popular than indulging in a hot cup of coffee?

But with coffee shops in the city being dime a dozen, it can be hard to pinpoint which one is best for you.

So, without further ado – if you’re finding yourself trying to keep up with the fast-paced city, the following cafés (all located within a 2-minute walk from a Project Spaces location) may just have what it takes to help you cultivate the moment of peace you need to unlock new levels of productivity during your workday.

Early Bird

Location: Queen St. W and Portland St.
@earlybirdbrew

Early Bird, known for it’s contemporary menu filled with bold brews and flavour-packed plates that won’t derail your diet, is the perfect spot to roll in on your way to the office! One of the pioneers of Toronto’s specialty coffee scene, Early Bird is a multi roaster café that boasts beans sourced from all over the world!

Simit & Chai

Location: King St. W and Niagara St.
@simitandchaicompany

This specialty Turkish bakery and café provides a calming atmosphere to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Decorated with a stunning Middle Eastern Influence, it’s not uncommon to see a pair of regulars engaging in a meticulous game of backgammon within its four walls. While you can still get all of your favourite espresso drinks at Simit & Chai, we recommend trying the rich Turkish coffee – specially brewed in a cezve!

Jimmy’s Coffee

Location: Multiple across Toronto
@jimmys_coffee

With the uber experienced baristas at Jimmy’s Coffee in charge of your handcrafted morning beverage, you’ll be sure to start your day off on the right foot! These eclectic cafés spread out across West Toronto are a city treasure. Bonus: They even have an app that allows users to collect rewards after each purchase!

Fahrenheit Coffee

Location: Richmond St. W and Portland St. + Lombard St. and Jarvis St.
@farenheitto

Voted best specialty coffee house in Toronto since 2012, Fahrenheit Coffee is the kind of place where everybody knows your name! Additionally, Fahrenheit Coffee offers espresso from three different origins to ensure that your morning latte possesses the unique flavour profile that you crave!

Portland Variety

Location: King St. W and Portland St.
@portlandvariety

Grab an energizing cortado and a chocolate croissant too! In Portland Variety’s café section, you’ll find an expansive selection of delectable pastries that can help curb any mid-morning hunger pangs! With vibrant natural light pooling into the King St. facing floor-to-ceiling windows, you can both sunbathe and people-watch while you’re waiting for your order to be made.
