One of the best parts about having two coworking spaces in the heart of downtown Toronto is the local scene. There is a multitude of incredible restaurants, cafés and bars in the area. If you’re looking to bond with co-workers, entertain clients or just relax after a week of hard work, you don’t have to go very far to find a place.
Here are just a few of our favourite nearby bars:
1. The Banknote
663 King Street West
On a rainy or snowy day, The Banknote Pub is perfect for members at our King West location. You barely need to step outside to get to our building neighbour. This bar offers a casual hangout spot and some pretty great daily specials on both food and drinks. If you’re looking to get to know your co-workers a little better over some drinks and grub, The Banknote is the place.
2. Petty Cash
487 Adelaide Street
Petty Cash is a hidden gem on Portland tucked away on Portland Street. It boasts a slightly upscale vibe and an artsy atmosphere with stunning murals created by local artists and funky neon signs. Their drink menu includes classics like Old Fashioneds and Manhattans mixed in with fun cocktails like Frozé and Pineapple Zaddy. In the warmer months, their patio is the place to be.
3. Rivoli
334 Queen Street West
If you want to unwind after work with a little bit of pool, look no further than The Rivoli. The entire second floor is a pool hall. The lounge features eleven vintage pool tables. Your team can rent a table at $12/hour. You can also take advantage of their walk-in day special. If you come in between 2 and 6 PM, you’ll get one free hour of pool with a drink purchase. We won’t tell if you sneak out of work a little bit early.
4. The Keg Steakhouse + Bar
560 King Street West
Obviously The Keg is an iconic Steakhouse but they also have a pretty fantastic bar as well. The bar, or as it’s referred by The Keg, The Lounge, features $5 daily deals until 6 pm on drinks like whiskey sours and margaritas. If you’re looking for a more premium location with drinks you know and love, try The Keg for an after-work hang. We didn’t even mention the steak but it goes without saying if you need something to pair with your beverages, the food is second to none.
5. Cibo Wine Bar
552 King Street West
If you want to really impress your co-workers or even clients, suggest Cibo Wine Bar. They’re marketed as “a truly authentic Italian wine bar” and this is no exaggeration. It’s an elegant spot without feeling too stuffy. Naturally, it is a go-to spot for wine lovers, but they also host Lobster Tuesdays for all the seafood fanatics. $23 for fresh lobster, five different ways? Sign us up!
